Spirulina is a type of algae (cynobacteria) that obtains its energy from photosynthesis. It is one of the most nutrient dense foods we can consume and in small quantities spirulina works great in smoothies and acai bowls.

5 HEALTH BENEFITS OF SPIRULINA
  • Rebuild muscle: Made of more than 50% protein it provides the same amount of protein per gram as eggs and helps you recover faster after working out
  • Digestion and energy : The high concentration of vitamin B1 aids digestion and increases your energy levels
  • Detox: Spirulina binds to heavy metals and other toxins helping our body to detox naturally
  • Bone strength: Containing x26 more calcium than milk, spirulina is excellent for promoting bone health.
  • Muscular endurance: The high antioxidant content of spirulina helps reduce exercise induced oxidation (which leads to muscle fatigue and inability to gain muscle) - in short your muscles will be able to work harder and recover quicker.
